# Sándor József

Farcád, 1956. november 19. –

*matematikus, egyetemi oktató*

Székelyudvarhelyen járt középiskolába. A kolozsvári tudományegyetem matematika szakán végzett 1980-ban. 1980–1983 között Nagyszebenben, 1983–1997 között Székelyudvarhelyen matematikatanár. 1997-től a kolozsvári Babeș–Bolyai Tudományegyetem adjunktusa, majd 1999-től docense. 1998-ban megszerezte a doktori címet matematikából. Különböző hazai és külföldi szakmai társulatok tagja. 1983-tól tagja a Román Matematikai Társulatnak, 1991-től a Bolyai János Matematikai Társulatnak, 1992-től az American Mathematical Society­nek, 1998-tól az European Mathematical Societynek és az ausztráliai Research Group in Mathematical Inequalitiesnek, 1999-től a Radó Ferenc Matematikai Társulatnak, az MTA Kolozsvári Akadémiai Bizottságának.

Számos bel-, illetve külföldi matematikai szaklap szerkesztője, valamint tizenkét könyvet publikált, melyek közül többet híres külföldi kiadóknál. Kutatási területei: matematikai analízis, számelmélet, geometria, Bolyai-kutatás. 12 könyvet publikált, ezek között többet híres külföldi kiadóknál. Tudományos dolgozatainak, hosszabb-rövidebb cikkeinek száma meghaladja az ezret. Az egyik legtermékenyebb magyar matematikus.
