# Szacsvay Sándor Marosvécs, 1752 - Kolozsvár, 1815. május 15. *székely újságíró, szerkesztő* Marosvécsen született 1752-ben székely birtokos családban. Kolozsvárt, a debreceni kollégiumban és a pozsonyi líceumban tanult, majd Bécsben hallgatott jogot, majd rövid utat tett Német- és Franciaországban. Pozsonyban Rát Mátyás mellett dolgozott az első magyar nyelvű újságnál, a Magyar Hírmondónál, amelynek 1784. júliusától – 1786. májusáig volt szerkesztője. Eszméi miatt szorult ki a közéletből, meg kellett válnia lapjától. Kolozsvárra vonult vissza, de a francia forradalom híve maradt haláláig. A Magyar Kurírt 1786-ban jelentette meg Budapesten majd Bécsben.
